摘要:
The paper presents the detail of construction and validation of Biology Achievement Test(BAT)for 9th grade students.The investigator initially framed 200 items for achievement test on different topics taken from two units of 9th grade biology,i.e.,“Biodiversity”and“Cells&Tissues”.After writing items,investigator consulted subject experts for evaluating initially framed items in term of structure,readability,and difficulty level of items.After incorporating experts’opinion,the initial draft of items reduced to 120 items on the basis of the test specification.The preliminary draft of 120 test items was administered to 120 students to obtained data for item analysis.After rigorous process of item analysis,the final draft was reduced to 80 items.The reliability coefficient of the test was found to be 0.93.Validity of the biology achievement test was established by mean of face and content validity.The biology achievement test was found to valid as well as reliable.It was recommended that achievement tests on other topics of biology and on different topics of subjects like physics,chemistry,and mathematics may be constructed and validated.
